Vodafone Ireland is currently accepting entries from small and medium-sized enterprises for the fifth annual See Your Business Pitchside competition. The goal is to secure a prominent advertising slot for the winning firm during Ireland’s upcoming rugby match against South Africa at the Aviva Stadium in November.
A €35,000 Advertising Opportunity
The contest is open specifically to Vodafone Business customers. Interested parties must submit their entries by 9 October. The prize package has been increased for this year’s edition, now valued at over €35,000.
Winners will gain pitchside visibility in front of more than 50,000 spectators at the fixture scheduled for 21 November. Beyond the stadium, the business will also appear during televised coverage of the game on RTÉ and TNT Sports. This ensures exposure to both domestic and international audiences watching the match.
The fixed monetary value offers a clearer metric for return on investment. Unlike vague exposure guarantees often seen in similar corporate competitions, a tangible cash figure helps SMEs justify high-cost marketing spend more effectively.

Support for Local Businesses
Jo Gilfoy, Director of Vodafone Business, stated that the initiative aims to support smaller companies facing ongoing cost pressures. She noted that these businesses continue to battle rising costs in the midst of inflation.
“See Your Business Pitchside provides unrivalled visibility to SMEs who continue to battle rising costs in the midst of inflation,” Gilfoy said. “That is why, to mark the fifth year of the contest, we are offering an increased prize value of over €35,000.”
According to the Central Statistics Office, there are 400,424 active SMEs in Ireland. Vodafone Ireland, which serves more than 2.3 million customers, says it provides connectivity and technology services to six in 10 Irish businesses. The company claims that many previous winners reported record profit increases after their pitchside appearances.
The competition has been running since its inception, attracting more than 12,000 entries in total. Prizes worth up to €300,000 have been awarded to more than 10 Irish SMEs over the years. Past winners include a diverse range of local firms, such as Horizon Prints, Voya Seaweed Baths, and JANDO.

Other successful participants have included The Farmhouse Bees & Trees, Lotts & Co, and SOS Cookies. The list also features Hazel Mountain Chocolate, Urban Aran, House of Hofu, and Thomp2 Socks. These brands have all utilized the platform to reach new customers during high-profile sporting events.
The pitchside slot is part of a broader support offering from Vodafone. This includes digital advisory services and partnerships designed to help businesses develop their use of technology. The company views this as a way to support local communities and the wider economy.
The final decision on the winner will come after the entry deadline passes in October.
