Commercial real estate firm JLL Ireland has revealed its planned leadership succession, naming Deirdre Costello as CEO effective January, succeeding John Moran, who will transition to chairman. Dan O’Connor has been designated head of capital markets and hotels, immediate effect.
Costello, who has over 30 years of experience with JLL, will continue to serve as head of leasing advisory in addition to her new responsibilities. She has advised on many of Dublin’s landmark office developments and will lead the firm’s growth strategy as CEO.
Matthew Richards, CEO of JLL UK and EMEA Capital Markets, said the appointments reflect the company’s commitment to developing people throughout their careers. He praised Costello, Moran, and O’Connor as highly respected leaders who have made significant contributions to JLL’s success in Ireland.

Moran, who has spent 40 years with JLL and served as CEO since 2009, said it has been a privilege to lead the company. He is proud of what has been achieved and the talented team that has been built. As chairman, he will continue to support the business as it enters its next phase of growth.
O’Connor’s appointment follows a nearly 20-year career with JLL. Since becoming head of hotels & living Ireland in 2023, he has advised on significant transactions across the hotels, residential, and wider living sectors. He looks forward to working with teams across all Capital Markets service lines to help clients make informed decisions and achieve their goals.
As JLL Ireland enters its next phase of growth, the company is well-positioned to continue its expansion, given its strong market position and reputation with investors and occupiers.
