AI agent boosts restaurant orders by 270000 - ai agent
Over 10,000 orders were placed through the AI-powered phone service.

Irish restaurant technology company Flipdish has said its AI Phone Agent has facilitated more than €270,000 in revenue for independent restaurants across Ireland and the UK. The Dublin-based company said more than 10,000 orders have been placed through the AI-powered phone service since its launch, with more than 13,000 orders facilitated in total to date.

The technology was launched at Dished Live 25 in November in response to the volume of phone orders restaurants receive during busy periods. The AI Phone Agent answers incoming calls, takes customer orders and suggests additional items such as side dishes before sending confirmed orders directly to a restaurant’s point-of-sale system, kitchen display system or terminal.

Flipdish said some restaurants using the service have reported receiving more than 30 calls in a 10-minute period during peak times. In at least three instances, four customers called the same restaurant simultaneously, with the AI agent answering all four calls at the same time.

Conor McCarthy, co-founder and CEO of Flipdish, said the milestone demonstrated the impact of reducing missed calls for restaurants. “10,000+ orders and €270k in revenue is a great milestone, but the real win is what it represents. Fewer missed calls, less chaos during peak service, and more orders captured without dragging staff away from the kitchen or the counter,” he said.

Jessica Borza of Dublin-based Silvio’s Food Company said the service had helped the restaurant manage busy periods. “Before the AI Phone Agent, calls would come in all at once before lunch or dinner and some customers would simply give up if we could not answer quickly,” she said. “Now those calls are answered straight away, orders can be taken without staff running to the phone, and our team can stay focused on preparing food and serving customers.”

They plan to expand the technology to handle other common phone enquiries, including order updates and questions about opening hours. The company is also developing further AI tools aimed at helping restaurants generate more orders, reduce manual work, improve decision-making and manage customer relationships. Similar technology has been used in other industries to streamline customer service and improve efficiency, and Flipdish’s AI Phone Agent will continue to evolve and benefit restaurants.
