Today the distinction between avoués and avocats has been abolished in all but the appellate courts, where avoués proceed to follow as earlier than. They investigate the facts and the evidence by conferring with their clients and reviewing paperwork, and so they put together and file the pleadings in courtroom. At the trial, they introduce evidence, interrogate witnesses, and argue questions of law and reality. If they don’t win the case, they could search a new trial or relief in an appellate courtroom.
